I was someone who bought limited random supermarket skincare and have had about two facials in my lifetime but I decided to invest in my skin for my wedding and for a full year I put my skin in the hands of Lovoir and their amazing therapist Emma. I visited roughly once a month and Emma tailored every treatment around my skin type, I absolutely loved every visit to Lovoir, it was my bit of luxury as the salon is beautiful and the treatments are amazing, I now have my favourite skincare products from Lovoir and will continue to treat myself to appointments to keep my skin looking as good as it did on my wedding day.

Thanks Lovoir and Emma, Christchurch is lucky to have you ❤️

I’ve been getting skin treatments from Jessie for years. At Lovoir I was also able to get the OBSERV, which was really helpful to then target treatments (and  use sunscreen more!). I especially love getting peels and needling from Jessie. Jessie is also master of the brows and she is the only one I will let touch my eyebrows! When it came time to deciding who I wanted for my wedding day make up artist, there wasn’t even a choice for me. I knew it was going to be Jessie. Jessie has been doing my make up for events for several years so I was confident she easily had the skills to make me look my best. Jessie understood the vision I wanted for bridal make up and executed it flawlessly. What was important to me as well was that she had the skills to do various skin textures and older skin as well. Jessie did the make up for me, three bridesmaids, the celebrant, mother of the bride and mother of the groom. A tall order for any make up artist! Everyone looked, and felt beautiful. I am eternally grateful for the work that she did.

Thank you Jessie.

What Should I Do For My Skin Before My Wedding?

With so much importance on such a big day, we have a few tips.
  1. Cleanse: Cleansing properly and with the correct cleanser is the foundation of all good skincare routines.
  2. Brighten: Products containing high quality vitamin A, C and brightening ingredients help to ensure your skin is glowing on the day.
  3. Protect: No skincare routine will give you a glowing and healthy complexion unless it comes with a dose of sun protection – especially if you’re applying products containing vitamin C, or using retinols at night.
  4. Exfoliate: Exfoliate 1-2 times a week with a physical or enzymatic exfoliant, but don’t over do it! This can upset your skin, make you sensitive and or breakout
  5. Moisturise: While your serums are packed with vitamins and strong actives, plenty of hydration and moisturising will keep your skin happy. The right moisturiser will ensure that this balance of moisture is just right!

This really depends on your skin concerns! If your skin is relatively clear and healthy, 2-3 hydrating facials in the last 6 weeks will do wonders for a photo ready complexion.

If you have bigger concerns like uneven tone, texture or scarring you may need treatments that require more time to do their magic!

We recommend coming in for a consultation a minimum of 6 months before the big day. Our knowledgeable team can help to identify your concerns and work with you to create a plan for happier, healthier skin.

At the very least, we recommend getting a facial no later than a week before your wedding day. After you clear your pores of dead skin cells, you will notice a more radiant complexion when looking in the mirror that will shine through in your wedding photos.

We recommend our Vitamin Infusion Facial for a pre event boost!

Specialised serums are infused directly into your skin for the ultimate bridal glow!

A pretty sunless glow before your wedding can highlight your gown, even out your skin tone, brighten your eyes and make your bridal makeup POP! If it’s done correctly a spray tan is the secret trick that puts the sparkle in your bridal beauty routine.

Don’t skip the trial! The team at Lovoir recommend having a trial tan a couple of days before your trial makeup – this ensures that your makeup artist can match the correct skin tone.
