Did you know SPF comes in two forms?🤔 MINERAL/PHYSICAL and CHEMICAL. Whats the difference? 🤷 ...
♀️
The main difference between Mineral/Physical SPF and Chemical SPF is how they handle the sun's rays.
MINERAL/PHYSICAL - Reflects UV rays. This form offers the MOST protection as it is PHYSICALLY creating a barrier between you and the sun. These SPFs are more chalky-like in appearance. Mineral/Physical SPF needs to be reapplied every 2 hours, especially if you are outside, swimming, or being active. The active ingredients in mineral sunscreens are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
CHEMICAL - Absorbs UV rays. It does this by changing the chemical structure of UV Rays to reduce sun damage.
This form isn't as effective and does need to be reapplied more frequently compared to Mineral. It's mainly found in SPFs that are in a spray or cream form. Most chemical sunscreens contain at least one of the following active ingredients: oxybenzone, octinoxate, cinoxate, dioxybenzone, ensulizole, homosalate, meradimate, octisalate, octocrylene, padimate O, sulisobenzone, and avobenzone.

Ouch, Perioral Dermatitis strikes again! 😬
After taking a beautiful holiday away in Fiji, ...
this client's pre-existing Perioral Dermatitis flared up.
Dani was quick to jump in with a combination of LED Facials in the Spa, and at home, she used EGF Booster with dermal rolling to increase oxygen along with CliniPrep (reducing bacterial overgrowth), and Vitamin Rich Repair from DP Dermaceuticals.
(It is also important not to use too many active ingredients during this time as this will over-stimulate the skin.)
Dani also made sure she was working internally with a gut regime and EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids) to repair the skin from the inside. This is the most important step - the gut must be functioning well in order to start the healing process in the skin.
Another fine example of how we can help you.

Why do we need to wear SPF daily? 🤷🏼♀️
Did you know Skin Cancers are the most common Ca ...
ncers diagnosed in New Zealand? 😳 Two out of three New Zealanders are diagnosed with non-melanoma per year! More than 6,000 melanomas are diagnosed every year.
New Zealand has high levels of UV radiation compared to countries in the northern hemisphere, hence the reasoning behind why our Skin Cancer rates are so incredibly high.
Prevention - It's simple, as you all probably had drilled into you at school. SLIP, SLOP, SLAP!
Slip on a long-sleeved top, Slop on your SPF, and Slap on a hat!
Let's work together to lower these stats. 🤝
Still questioning why applying SPF daily is important? We thought not. 😏
